Spread a smooth layer of Dromona Butter or mayonnaise on each side of the bread, then flip. The buttered sides will be the crispy outside layers of the toastie, so make sure you add your filling on the non-buttered sides.
For Ham & Cheese:
- Start with a little layer of American mustard on each slice.
- Load up with Dromona Cheddar, red onion, more cheddar, ham, pickles and one final hit of cheese (because you can never have too much in a cheese toastie!)
For Bacon & Cranberry:
- Get stuck right in with the fillings: start with Dromona Cheddar, then layer up the red onion, plenty of grilled crispy bacon, more cheddar and stuffing.
- Drizzle the sweet chilli sauce and cranberry sauce to balance the smoky bacon, all brought together with the melted cheddar.
- Go on, add another couple of slices of cheese to top it all off!
Start grilling:
- Lightly coat the pan with Dromona Butter (especially if you have used mayonnaise as your outer spread)
- Grill the sandwich until it is nicely toasted on each side and the cheese has started to melt
- To really bring out the BBQ flavour, cook with the lid closed as much as possible
- Slice, serve with some slaw and get stuck in!
